My Approach

What drives me

As an admissions consultant, writer, editor, and educator, I’m most passionate about amplifying people’s voices and helping them tell their own stories, in their own words. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with dozens of students to help them craft admissions essays that top schools notice. From brainstorming through final polishing before submission, I guide people through the writing process, ensuring that they highlight their strengths as they apply to their dream schools. I also provide support with researching and selecting schools, putting together application packages, interview prep, and other essential steps in the admissions journey. There are few things more rewarding than hearing from students that they’ve gotten accepted to their dream schools, and I want to help you get there, too! 

what inspired me to do this

I was fortunate enough to have a phenomenal college guidance counselor back in high school. She helped me figure out exactly what I wanted in a university, make a target list of schools, and select the right high school classes; later, she helped me put the finishing touches on my essays and supported me as I sent in my applications. In the four years that we worked together, my college counselor centered my interests, needs, and preferences; at the same time, she wasn’t afraid to be honest with me, whether that meant being realistic about my chances of getting in somewhere or steering me toward a school that she knew might fit me well. I firmly believe that every student should have access to a counselor who gives them this kind of personalized support, and that’s what I always aim to provide.

my background

Over the years, I’ve worked in lobbying, on Capitol Hill, in the non-profit world, as a consultant, as a content creator, and as a teacher; in all of these roles, my focus has been on helping people and organizations effectively and authentically tell their stories to the world. I have a master’s in sociology and education (concentration in education policy) from Columbia University, Teachers College; in May 2023, I also completed TC’s certification program in college advising. My undergrad degree is from Tufts University.
